Dag Falck
Our 2012 Technical Award goes to Dag Falck, Organic Ambassador and Organic Program Manager, for Nature’s Path Food Inc. Dag was educated as an Agronomist in Norway. With a background in agriculture and his strong interest in health, organic farming and food he became directly involved with organic certification in 1989 when he started working as an inspector for multiple organic certification agencies in North America. For nearly a decade Dag has worked with Nature’s Path, North America’s largest organic breakfast cereal producer. He interfaces with all aspects of the company’s organic supplies, policies and consumer communications. He is past Canadian Vice Chair for OTA, and past Chair of the Organic Agriculture Center of Canada (OACC), current member of the Canada Organic Trade Association (COTA) management committee, Chair of the Canadian Permitted Substances List (PSL) working group, and he holds a Board position with the Non-GMO Project.
Erin Schrode
Our 2012 Communication Award goes to Erin Schrode, a young ecoRenaissance woman. As the “face of the new green generation,” the co-founder and spokeswoman of Teens Turning Green promotes global sustainability, youth leadership, environmental education, and conscious lifestyle choices. She founded and launched The Schoolbag, a youth education project that provides tools and materials for students in need, as well as initiate active citizenry and environmental stewardship. A “sustainability prodigy” and eco-expert, Erin has been widely featured in multimedia outlets such as The New York Times, BBC, CNN, and others. Erin speaks frequently, serves on panels, hosts events and videos, and writes columns for multiple blogs, including Huffington Post. Erin is US Ambassador to One Young World, spokeswoman for top organic brands, and, as The White House said, “a dynamic, passionate and ambitious young woman committed to creating big change everywhere she goes.
